Turandot

This project focused on designing the costumes for an adaptation of the opera 'Turandot' by Giacomo Puccini. I picked Torre del Lago Puccini as the location for the event as it is particularly evocative and strictly related to the composer and to me as well. The opera is set in China, therefore a lot of inspiration came from Chinese culture, symbols and books however, I also immersed myself in Puccini's music, this led me to interpret the characters by following my instinct to approach the opera innovatively. In fact the main theme of the project was 'Glow in the Dark' which led me to take inspiration from Tim Walker: Wonderful Things Exhibition at V&A.
